Josh Jordan has spent his entire life in Rhea County — not just working here, but building a family, forming lifelong relationships, and serving the community he calls home. He understands that decisions made by the Sheriff's Office affect real families, neighborhoods, and futures — because they affect his own.
He is a graduate of Rhea County High School, Class of 2000, and earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business from Chattanooga State, graduating with honors. His education and life experience have shaped a leadership style that values responsibility, organization, and accountability.
A Sheriff's Office should be trusted, professional, and consistent — serving the public with respect while enforcing the law.
Every person deserves professional treatment. Clear communication and respectful service build trust and reduce conflict.
Standards protect everyone — the public and the deputies who serve them. Accountability is part of professionalism.
The Sheriff must lead from the front: set expectations, support training, and ensure the office runs as one team.
My name is Josh Jordan, and I am formally announcing my intent to run for Sheriff of Rhea County, Tennessee.
My commitment to public service began early. While attending college, I volunteered as a Reserve Police Officer with the Spring City Police Department and as a Reserve Deputy with the Rhea County Sheriff's Office. In January 2004, I began my full-time career in law enforcement as a Corrections Deputy with the Rhea County Sheriff's Office. I was later promoted to Patrol Deputy and attended the Police Academy. In August 2006, I accepted a position with the Dayton Police Department, where I currently serve as a Patrol Sergeant.
I love this county and care deeply about the people who live here. It would be my honor to bring my years of experience, leadership, and commitment to service to the role of Sheriff of Rhea County.
